Amanda Frye is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly two decades of experience providing therapy to children, teens, adults, women, and families. She received her Master’s in Social Work from Florida State University in 2006, completed 3,200 hours of clinical training in California, and became licensed in 2012. Since then, she has worked in a wide range of settings including residential care for teenagers, in-patient hospital treatment, public schools, community programs, and private practice.
Amanda specializes in helping clients heal from trauma, navigate emotional regulation challenges, and move through major life transitions. She has advanced training in Perinatal and Postpartum Mental Health through Postpartum Support International, and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, with certification in progress. She also serves as a Qualified Supervisor for Social Work interns working toward licensure.
Amanda began her career supporting teens in residential treatment in Florida, California, and Alaska, and later served in the Peace Corps in Lesotho, where she launched an after-school program for teenage girls focused on leadership and mentoring. Upon returning to the U.S., she worked as an in-home therapist with the Florida Department of Health’s Healthy Families program, supporting new and expecting parents, before spending several years with Polk County Public Schools providing mental health services to students in crisis. She transitioned into private practice in 2022 and joined Atala Counseling in 2024.
Amanda’s therapeutic approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. She draws from cognitive, humanistic, and trauma-focused modalities to meet each client where they are. She is passionate about helping clients uncover their authentic selves, cultivate resilience, and move toward a healthier mindset. Clients working with Amanda often find her to be compassionate, collaborative, and deeply committed to their growth and healing.
