Her diverse background in leadership, corporate America, and health has made her a trusted counselor in Central Florida, known for helping clients navigate life transitions, relationship conflicts, parenting struggles, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Working with children and families, Jamie is well aware that the demands of parenting are ever prevalent in today’s society and can prove to be quite a challenge within the home! Jamie has gained experience and training working with clients to enhance relationships and communication. Through education, training, and a lot of life experience, Jamie strives to help parents understand their child and better cope with the inevitable changes they’ll have throughout their development. She uses play as a medium to communicate and help children find their voice and play out their feelings and struggles.
She believes wholeheartedly that to be healthy one must be balanced physically, mentally, and spiritually. Healthy eating and physical activity help children and young people cope more effectively with stress, manage their emotions more appropriately, get better sleep, and promotes healthier brain development. She utilizes this as a platform to support individuals’ health and wellness goals. She is happy and able to provide Christian counseling at the request of the client.
Jamie has clinical expertise in treating life’s everyday problems, relationship conflicts, parenting issues, children with behavioral issues, ADHD, social & general anxieties, depression, & trauma in all ages. She utilizes eclectic therapeutic skills and a variation of treatment modalities personalized to each client and their needs. Jamie is actively pursuing her designation as a Registered Play Therapist and often uses Play, Sandplay, and Art Therapy in addition to other modalities such as; Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy when working with clients.
Jamie understands how “giving up” can seem like the only option. She also knows that it is possible to foster a relationship that is truly desired by making small, daily changes based on a realistic understanding of where you are and where you want to be. Jamie aims to create a collaborative alliance with her clients, equipping them with tools to manage uncomfortable emotions, empower growth, and achieve lasting transformation.
