Jamie G. Smith is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern serving children as young as 5 years old, adolescents, adults, couples, and families throughout Polk County. She provides a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. Jamie G. serves her clients through individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. She offers sessions in her warm, welcoming office space in Lakeland, FL or virtually throughout the state of Florida via a HIPAA-compliant portal.
Jamie G. earned her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She has clinical experience supporting clients with anxiety (including social and generalized anxiety), depression, trauma, ADHD, parenting challenges, behavioral concerns in children, relationship conflict, and life transitions. Her work is rooted in a family-centered approach that helps strengthen parent-child relationships, improve communication, and support overall family well-being. Jamie G. partners collaboratively with clients to develop practical tools that foster emotional regulation, resilience, and lasting personal growth.
In addition to her counseling training, Jamie G. holds degrees in Business Administration and Communication. Her hands-on experience in corporate environments allows her to help clients manage work-related stress, improve productivity, establish healthy boundaries, and transition more effectively between work and home life. Jamie G. uses visual, auditory, and tactile tools to support working professionals manage stress and improve their performance in their jobs.

She integrates her background in fitness and nutrition to support holistic balance, particularly for children and adolescents. Jamie G. utilizes an integrative, individualized approach to therapy. Depending on the client’s needs, she may incorporate play therapy techniques, sand tray, and art therapy alongside evidence-based counseling interventions such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Her goal is to create a collaborative therapeutic alliance that equips clients with the skills needed to navigate difficult emotions and achieve meaningful, lasting change.
