Katy is accepting, authentic, and creates a safe therapeutic space for clients with her shame-free, compassionate, but direct approach. Her specialties are professional difficulties and stressors, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relational issues, attachment wounds, and LGBTQ+ family support. Katy has been in various professional settings since 1994; either in direct practice or management, and brings experience from positions in inpatient treatment, intensive outpatient programs, hospice organizations, and corporate settings.
She understands that executives, leaders, and professionals contend with specific and distinctive stressors and helps these clients discover healthy ways to manage and cope with these stressors. She also understands the unique struggles and concerns that families of LGBTQ+ individuals often experience and is working toward her certification in Transgender Affirmative Mental Healthcare.
Katy is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and utilizes her training in Gottman Method, Maternal Mental Health, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), grief work, attachment, and trauma-informed care in her work. Katy values the client as the expert of their own experience, and serves as a guide through attunement and presence.
Katy has a long-standing history of being a volunteer and supporter for many local non-profit organizations She currently serves on the Executive Committee and Board of ROAR Florida and serves as a field instructor for local college interns.
