Lauren Halbesma, BSW

Lauren is a Graduate Student Social Work Intern. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters of Social Work at Southeastern University, where she is honing her skills and deepening her understanding of social justice, community support, and individual empowerment.

Lauren’s passion for social work stems from a deep desire to stand beside others as they navigate through life’s challenges. Over the years, she has gained experience in various settings, including community outreach organizations, residential support services, and mental health advocacy. These experiences have equipped her with a diverse toolkit to address complex social issues with empathy, integrity, and evidence-based practices.

Lauren is eager to work with children and teens as she contributes to the mission by supporting clients, collaborating with the team, and engaging in meaningful research and practice. Her approach is centered around building authentic relationships, empowering clients, and working together to create positive, lasting change.
